About Judy

Judy Osiowy is a local artist who has been avidly painting for over 40 years. She trained at the Vancouver School of Art (currently Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design) in Vancouver after finishing high school in 1971. She has always loved to experiment with various media, and continues to work on different surfaces, and with various mediums, including watercolour, acrylic, inks, and pastels. Sometimes small works are her expression. At other times, she gets on ladders and paints murals on sides of houses, cupboards, ceilings, doors, and furniture. With a penchant for lyrical and whimsical treatments, she brings the outdoors inside, and brings the landscapes and florals outside her own home into interior spaces.

 

Judy is currently an art and music teacher with West and North Vancouver School Boards. She has been a juror with the West Vancouver Sketch Club, done a number of public art commissions for the city of North Vancouver as well as private commissions for collectors, including Jimmy Pattison. Currently she paints and sells her work from her studio/gallery in Pitt Meadows, British Columbia.
